2018 SHOW NEWS

SHOWS:
Five shows again this year with the last show being triple judged. May 12 & 13 - Walworth Co. Fairgrounds; June 23 & 24 - Bound’s Showtime Arena; Aug. 4 & 5 - Heartland Stables, Custer, WI; Sept. 1 & 2 - Heartland Stables, Custer, WI and Oct. 13 & 14 - Walworth Co. Fairgrounds. Freestyle ranchmanship and reining at the Labor Day show!

VERSATILITY AWARD:
A year-end award only, not a week end award but you do have to nominate for it ( a separate area on the nomination form). To nominate you must choose 2 cattle classes, 2 ARHA classes (ranch riding, ranchmanship, horsemanship (amateur division only), ranch trail, reining and ranch reining) and one conformation class. Open and amateur divisions only.

ALL BREED DIVISION:
In 2018, the Select division will be replaced with an All Breed Division. This is an opportunity for people to try and ARHA show without qualifying for ARHA registration.

2018 ARHA RULE UPDATES:
View a summary of the 2018 ARHA Rule Changes here.

UPDATES TO ACCEPTABLE BREEDS FOR ARHA SHOWS:
ARHA has opened up registration for any horse who can walk, trot and canter. If a horse is grade photos and video must be submitted to the ARHA for registration and cannot be registered at the show. Please allow 3 weeks for review from ARHA. Horses must be 13.2 hands as a minimum.

OTHER MISCELLANEOUS CHANGES/ANNOUNCEMENTS:
ARHA has approved the Western Working Horse Celebration in Madison, WI Sept. 7 -9 (for ARHA classes, the whole show is Sept. 7 - 16) with 23 ARHA classes. Points will not count for WRHA (hopefully in 2019 they will have an expanded class list and it can be approved as one of our shows) but points earned will count for ARHA points. We will have a booth there to attract new members, please consider volunteering to sit at the booth when you have time.

WRHA is looking for fund raising ideas to purchase our own stock trailer. This will be used for trail classes and will store trail obstacles, tarps, chairs, etc. in between shows. Contact an officer if you have any ideas.

Looking forward to a great 2018 show season with our great WRHA family. Let’s keep supporting each other in developing the all around ranch horse!!!
